Festival do Maio brings renowned names of national and international music to Seixal and encourages new artistic proposals that have intervention as a central element of their discourse – from politics to social criticism, from environmental activism to the fight against racial and gender discrimination, including issues related to the defense of cultural identities, the rights to self-determination and peace.
With an internationalist philosophy, and privileging the creation of bridges rather than the construction of walls, the festival’s line-up is made up of artists from various geographies, trying to represent, as much as possible, a variety of contents and musical forms that meet a diverse audience.
