Expresso Transatlântico has just released its second full-length album. Trópico Paranóia is now available on all platformsFrom this new album, we already know the singles “Flor Trovão”, “Avalanche”, “Tigre da Serra”, and “Nikita Punk” — tracks that have been carving a path towards new sonic landscapes and opening a new chapter in this transatlantic journey. According to Expresso Transatlântico themselves: “This record was born out of a creative period spent between Serra da Estrela, Foz do Arelho, and Brotas — three very different places, which ultimately shaped the sound and universe of this work. We felt that the places where we worked on the album naturally found their way into the songs: in the rhythms, the textures, and the way the music moves. Trópico Paranóia is a reflection of everything we are living through as a band and of what we absorbed along the way — from places, people, and time. Beyond that, it is also an exploration of our individual relationship to, and place within, a society in decline”.
Regarding the collaboration with Paulo Furtado (The Legendary Tigerman), they add: “We had never worked with a producer before, and choosing Paulo was very important to us — both because of who he is as a person and because of his artistic vision for this record. Sometimes you reach a point where it becomes difficult to see beyond what has already been done, and that’s where a producer’s role is crucial. Paulo understood perfectly what we wanted and where we were taking this album. His listening, vision, and sense of complicity had a very strong impact on the way the songs grew.” The presentation concerts for the new album will take place in Porto, at Casa da Música, on March 13, and in Lisbon, at Capitólio, on March 14, 2026.
