Expresso Transatlântico performed their new album Trópico Paranóia live to sold-out audiences at Casa da Música (Porto) and Capitólio (Lisbon), marking the on-stage debut of their latest creative chapterIn an atmosphere of close connection with the audience and a growing community of fans, Expresso Transatlântico delivered two sold-out concerts with contagious energy — constantly engaging the crowd, moving between moments of collective celebration and reflections on current events of our society. The two nights reflected the spirit that runs through Trópico Paranóia: a portrait of the path the group has been building, shaped by the experiences, places, and encounters that have forged their artistic identity. More than the presentation of a new chapter in their discography, the concerts stood as a space of sharing, where the music once again highlighted the strength of cultural fusion, diversity, and creation as a territory of encounter, knowledge, and cultural affirmation — aware of the times we live in. “The music of Expresso Transatlântico is good for us. It is good for Democracy, for Culture, for Knowledge, for the affirmation of Diversity, for the recognition that the blending of cultures is an achievement, a form of learning, a source of richness”. – Paulo Pereira in Altamont On stage, the band brought together the creative universe that shaped the album, also highlighting the contribution of the many people involved in the process, including producer Paulo Furtado and musicians Zé Cruz and Tiago Martins. From the more introspective single “Avalanche” to the apotheotic “Não Pares Povo,” a stellar setlist: songs that orbit between rhythmic drive and complex yet familiar melodies. These are tracks that make us dream with our feet firmly on the ground, sleeves rolled up for whatever comes our way. |
