From the 26th to the 29th of October, the city of Bilbao hosts BIME Pro, a festival of showcases and conferences, which will feature music industry professionals from around the world. Club Makumba are the first Portuguese band selected for the showcase program, taking to the stage at the Bilborock room next Wednesday at 8:30 pm. Last week, the band performed at the opening ceremony of WOMEX in Lisbon, being already confirmed for the 2023 edition of the EUROSONIC festival. This presence in the most prestigious and demanding international music events confirms Club Makumba as one of the most interesting Portuguese musical projects today. Club Makumba is a free, spontaneous, experimental and tribalist exercise. It opens the window to a journey through the sounds of the Mediterranean and imagined Africa, to music without prejudice and without borders: dancing as an art of resistance.
