Rita Redshoes

This year, Rita Redshoes returns to the studio with her seventh album, marking a new chapter in her career and in the Portuguese music scene. Following her 2012 show The Other Women, in which she paid tribute to composers from around the world, she now seeks to extend this idea by celebrating exclusively Portuguese female songwriters. Under the theme of the multiple facets of the female universe, Rita invited some of the most relevant voices in national music to write original songs for her. The result is an album that is intense, emotional, and profoundly striking.

Singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, Rita Redshoes stands out for her intimate and elegant style, blending pop, rock, and electronic elements. Over the past 16 years, she has continuously evolved as an artist, exploring personal and social themes through profound lyrics and sophisticated productions. She is also recognized for her versatility as an instrumentalist, playing piano, guitar, and drums on many of her songs. Throughout her career, she has released critically acclaimed albums, including Golden Era and Lights & Darks, and is known both for her solo work and her collaborations — she has contributed to theater and film soundtracks and worked with prominent names in Portuguese music, such as Fernando Tordo, GNR, David Fonseca, and Noiserv, among others.

Rita Redshoes has also been involved in educational and pedagogical projects, most notably “Chinfrim”, which is currently available for touring. In this new children’s show, Rita presents a creative and interactive approach to music, designed for young audiences but capable of captivating all ages.
