Raquel Tavares

Raquel Tavares is one of the leading voices of traditional Portuguese fado, with performances that are intense and emotional experiences, delivering the pure fado of someone who comes from the heart of Alfama neighbourhood.

From a very young age, Raquel Tavares attended fado gatherings, beginning to sing at just 7 years old. In 2006, she released her self-titled debut album, which earned her the Amália Rodrigues Award in the “Female Revelation” category. This was followed by albums such as Bairro (2008), widely praised by critics, and Raquel (2016), which includes the hit “Meu Amor de Longe”, with over 14 million views on YouTube. In 2017, she released Roberto Carlos por Raquel Tavares, an album that quickly went platinum and earned her the Globo de Ouro (the portuguese globe award) for “Best Performer.”
