Gilsons

The Gilsons toured North America, performed at Ageas Cooljazz (Cascais) in July, and continue to bring Brazilian popular music to all corners of the world, winning new audiences and consolidating their international recognition with a sound that blends tradition, innovation, and contagious on-stage energy.

The Gilsons project brings together Francisco, João, and José Gil, who were born and raised in the world of music. Mixing influences from pop-rock, samba, reggae, and Bahian rhythms, the group also pays tribute to the MPB tradition inherited from their father and grandfather, Gilberto Gil. After early releases such as “Várias Queixas” and “Devagarinho,” the band debuted with the album Pra Gente Acordar (2022), which was nominated for a Latin Grammy the same year in the category of “Best Contemporary Pop Album in Portuguese.”

In 2023, they released the singles “Bateu” and “Céu Rosé” and collaborated with BaianaSystem and Tropkillaz on the single “Presente.” In 2024, they presented “Feito à Maré” with Jota.pê, “ME LIGA” with Murilo Chester, and “Bebê.”
