Expresso Transatlântico

“Expresso Transatlântico” is a musical journey between the influences of Portuguese tradition and contemporary global sounds. It’s a musical portrait of a cosmopolitan Lisbon, with the Portuguese guitar as the main character, which has already toured major Portuguese and international stages. In September 2023, Gaspar Varela, Sebastião Varela, and Rafael Matos released “Ressaca Bailada” (Danced Hangover), their debut full-length album, which after being premiered live in sold-out venues, made appearances on several “Best of the Year” lists in the national press. “Ressaca Bailada” continues its tour, with Expresso Transatlântico already confirmed to perform at the Primavera Sound and Ageas Cool Jazz festivals. Meanwhile, the band is preparing a “concert film” to be released later this year.
