Ana Lua Caiano has just been awarded at the 28th edition of the Golden Globes in the “Best Song” category with the track “Deixem o Morto Morrer” (Let the Dead Die).
The Golden Globes celebrate and annually recognize the best of national popular culture across various disciplines. The artist was nominated in three categories (Best Performer, Best Song, and New Artist).
Ana Lua Caiano’s musical journey began in 2022 when she released her first EP “Cheguei Tarde a Ontem” (I Arrived Late Yesterday). In 2023, she surprised with “Se Dançar É Só Depois” (If You Dance, It’s Only Later), and this year, on March 15, 2024, she released her first full-length album “Vou Ficar Neste Quadrado” (I’ll Stay in This Square), under the German label Glitterbeat.
Since the release of her debut album, Ana Lua Caiano has been highly praised by both national and international critics, featuring in several highlights across European media outlets (BBC, Le Monde, El País) and even reaching the other side of the Atlantic with various features on American radio stations (KEXP).
Her album tour has taken her to numerous stages, both inside and outside the country, with stops at international festivals such as WOMEX, BIME Bilbao, FIRA B!, MUM, Live Europe, Les Trans Musicales, Roskilde Festival, Les Sud à Arles, La Mar de Músicas, Oslo World Fest, and Reeperbahn, among many others. On the national circuit, she has performed at NOS Alive, Primavera Sound Porto, WOOL | Covilhã Urban Art, Ponte D’Lima Festival, Bons Sons, and MEO Kalorama, among many other dates.
The awards ceremony of the 28th Golden Globes Gala took place this Sunday, May 29, at the Coliseu dos Recreios and was broadcast live on SIC.
