Mike El Nite

Mike El Nite has been constantly reinventing himself. He stands out as one of the most versatile and distinctive artists in Portuguese music, firmly established within the culture through his work as a rapper, songwriter, and producer over the years.

We know him as Mike El Nite, but since he considers us his friends, we can call him “Simplesmente Miguel”. This alter ego marks the beginning of a new phase in his career — which will celebrate its tenth anniversary in 2026 — where closeness with the audience becomes absolute. This isn’t just a new chapter; it’s a rendezvous. Miguel invites us on a date with life, with music, and with himself — a romantic, existential, and deeply human encounter.

Musically, Simplesmente Miguel revisits and reinvents worlds: from the revivalism of Lisbon’s live music bars of the ’80s and ’90s, to the golden aesthetics of the romantic ballad, through “Portuguese-style” italo-disco, Neapolitan neomelodic music, and even Japanese city pop and jazz fusion.

“It’s as if Ricardo Landum lived in Tokyo, and there was a Lisboatown nightlife” says Miguel.

The first single, “Existencisensual (É Complicado)” — which also gives its name to the album — was born from a simple yet powerful idea: “when one thinks about life, one falls in love with it.” It is in this meeting between existential reflection and sensual romanticism that Miguel finds his new voice, blending philosophy and sensuality in songs that breathe intimacy.
